Invisalign
Australia is experiencing a shift in tooth straightening care due to this innovative technology. Burwood Dental Care takes pride in its expertise in tooth straightening and the Invisalign method of teeth straightening.

Braces
Whether you are a child or an adult, Burwood Dental Care can help you with dental braces. It is often thought that braces are uncomfortable and can even be embarrassing. The process is as painless as possible with our team of experienced doctors and staff. Our goal is to make every step of the procedure as comfortable as possible.

Clear Aligners
For adults and teens who want straight teeth but do not want to deal with metal braces or ceramic braces, clear aligners are a good alternative. This aligner is made out of a thin, clear plastic that is comfortable to wear over your teeth and is made to fit over them snugly.

Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin shells made of porcelain that are bonded on top of teeth in order to transform their appearance. They are most commonly used for cosmetic purposes. You can use veneers to cover discoloured teeth or close gaps between teeth.

Digital Smile Design
With Digital Smile Design (DSD), Burwood Dental Care helps patients envision their perfect smiles and their final results.

Dental Crowns & Bridge
Our dental crowns & bridges service uses state-of-the-art technology to create a 3D model of your mouth that helps us determine what treatment will be most suitable for you.

How much does a dental check-up cost in Ashwood?
An individual’s dental check-up will cost differently depending on the state of their oral health. Check-ups typically cost $200, but this can go up to $400 if your dentist discovers any serious problems. You may have to pay even more if you need to have a number of X-rays taken.
Does Medicare cover dental check-ups?
In certain circumstances, both children and adults are eligible for dental rebates through Medicare. The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) provides coverage for children. To qualify for Medicare and Family Tax Benefit A, a child must be between the ages of two and 17 years old.
A maximum of $1,000 is allowed per child every two years, and benefits include cleanings, fissure sealing, fillings, and extractions. Neither orthodontics nor cosmetic dentistry is covered.
Commonwealth Health Care Card holders, Commonwealth Pensioner Concession Card holders, and Commonwealth Seniors Health Cardholders are also eligible. State-specific terms and conditions apply.
When should a child visit the dentist?
You can follow some guidelines to determine when the right time is for your child to see the dentist. A yearly dental visit is recommended for children ages 1 to 2 years old, twice a year for 2 to 6 years old, and every six months for 6 to 12 years old, according to the Australian & New Zealand Society Of Pediatric Dentistry.
Why is it important for children to visit the dentist?
Adults may find the experience of going to the dentist uncomfortable, but children commonly find it scary. However, children need dental care just as much as adults.
There are a number of reasons why you should schedule a dental appointment as early as possible, including:
- Poor oral health is primarily a result of an unhealthy diet and lack of dental care. If you do not visit the dentist regularly, you will find it difficult to change your poor oral hygiene habits.
- Maintaining good oral health can prevent heart disease, diabetes, respiratory problems, and tooth loss.
- Choosing a dental practice where your child feels comfortable will be beneficial for both of you.
In case of a dental emergency at night, what do I need to do?
In the event of severe pain, you may want to make an appointment with a dentist during the night. Sadly, most dental offices stay closed at night. You can find out what steps you need to take by visiting the Victoria Emergency Dental Care website.
What can I do to find the right dentist for my family and me?
A dentist is a very important choice for your family. In terms of your oral health, it is essential that you find a dentist who you are comfortable with since he or she will be your long-term partner concerning your family’s oral health. Before choosing a dentist, ask yourself these questions:
- During what hours does the clinic operate? Do the hours suit your schedule?
- Are you having trouble getting to the clinic from your workplace?
- Where did the dentist receive his or her education and training?
- How does your dentist approach preventive dentistry?
- Does the dentist regularly attend continuing education courses?
- In what condition is their clinic? Do they keep it clean and neat, and is it an orderly place?
- Does the dental staff seem friendly to you and willing to answer any questions you may have?
- Are gloves and other protective gear worn by the dentist during treatment?
When should I see a dentist about a toothache?
If you experience any of the following symptoms, you should see your dentist immediately.
- An ongoing toothache lasts longer than a couple of days
- You have a severe toothache
- When you open your mouth wide, you feel pain, fever, or earache.
In order to prevent the spread of dental infections to other parts of the face and skull, as well as to the bloodstream, it is important to identify and treat dental infections appropriately.
